Students, faculty, and staff in the School of Education serve the wider community in multiple ways that also provide opportunities for a wide variety of experience with children and young adults, and learning.

LifePrep@911±¬ÁÏÍø

911±¬ÁÏÍø students support individuals with developmental disabilities in an on-campus, fully integrated transitional program.

Partners for Learning

911±¬ÁÏÍø students tutor youth at urban schools and after-school programs.

Partners for Serving

911±¬ÁÏÍø students mentor, tutor, facilitate activities, and assist with administrative task through community organizations that focus on immigration and refugees, homelessness, youth development, and other issues.

Reading Clinic

In this on-campus clinic, 911±¬ÁÏÍø graduate students in the literacy programs assess children and adults to determine strengths and needs, design an instructional program to overcome or compensate for those needs, and provide one-to-one instruction.

Teacher Immersion Fellows Program

This partnership between 911±¬ÁÏÍø and participating area school districts offers graduate students in programs leading to teacher certification the ability to gain paid experience as substitute teachers.

Teacher Opportunity Corps Program (TOC II)

Participate in an internship, extra field placements, and professional development and support designed for urban education.
