Academic Success Coaching

Accomplish your academic goals through one-on-one organizational and motivational meetings.

Taking a holistic approach to student development, our academic success coaches use a meta-cognitive approach to helping you embrace your individual learning strengths and styles: We help you learn how you learn.

How academic coaches help

Trained graduate students provideÌý¾±²Ô»å¾±±¹¾±»å³Ü²¹±ô¾±³ú±ð»å student support in regularly scheduled, confidential, one-on-one meetings to enhance:

  • transitioning to college
  • self-management
  • test preparation
  • study skills
  • managing assignments
  • strategies to communicate with a professor
  • connecting with appropriate resources on campus
  • any additional challenges a student may face

Academic success coaches will NOT:

  • take care of your responsibilities for you
  • talk to professors on your behalf
  • serve as an area-specific tutor
  • track you down if you stop showing up to meetings
  • remind you about your obligations

Social Coaching

Personalized 1:1 sessions are specifically designed to help you develop essential social and self-care skills.

Be empowered to become an independent self-advocate throughout your college journey and beyond. The skills gained will be valuable tools you carry with you after graduation.

How social coaches help

Trained peer-to-peer social coaches provide individualized support in regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings to support the following (but not limited to these):

  • Creating meaningful connections with peers
  • Participating in social and campus activities
  • Maintaining healthy relationships
  • Communicating effectively with others
  • Goal setting
  • Creating healthy boundaries
  • Recognizing and understanding social cues
  • Mental and physical self-care

Meet once a week in our office to build essential skills and receive valuable resources to continue developing your goals. And spend an additional half an hour each week in the 911±¬ÁÏÍø community, further applying the skills you are developing, to accomplish your goals.
