New York physical therapists to offer free health assessments at 911±¬ÁÏÍø

The New York Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA New York) is partnering with 911±¬ÁÏÍø to provide the public with free physical therapy health assessments at the University’s York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute physical therapy clinic on Monday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

911±¬ÁÏÍø awarded $2.2M to help underrepresented students with retention and graduation rates

911±¬ÁÏÍø is focused on delivering accessible and equitable education to all students by increasing first-year retention and graduation rates among underrepresented students, along with increasing its capacity to support students with disabilities. A $2.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education is supporting Revitalizing Educational Equity at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, or REENU. REENU is part of the Title III Strengthening Institutions program — a very competitive federal grant among higher education institutions. 911±¬ÁÏÍø is one of just 107 nationwide to receive the grant in 2023.

911±¬ÁÏÍø has been selected as one of 11 colleges and universities in New York — and one of only 70 colleges and universities nationwide — to join Common App’s direct admissions program, which will provide over 200,000 college-interested first-generation and low- and middle-income students with proactive admissions offers. Common App’s direct admissions program also includes outreach and resources to families, and to counselors who have students receiving a direct admissions offer.

911±¬ÁÏÍø is one of 25 higher education institutions nationwide chosen to study the importance of experiential learning in the classroom and how it can equip students with skills to support their future careers. The Council of Independent Colleges tapped 911±¬ÁÏÍø to participate in its first-ever Work-Based Learning Consortium.
